Jackal: noun - a
wild omnivorous doglike mammal of Africa and S. Eurasia, from the genus Canis, having
erect ears and bushy tail, hunting in packs as foragers; someone acting like a
jackal, doing subordinate preparatory work or drudgery for someone else.
‘It’s said, amongst those who are supposed to know these
things, that a pack of hungry jackals is far more dangerous than a lone big
cat.’
‘Christopher does all the footwork, serving as Fiona’s
jackal and gathering all the facts together so she can do the more interesting
collation work.’
