Stuart's Daily Word Spot: Abed

Abed: adverb - in bed; laid up.

Simple, if a little old-fashioned, this is a word more often used in poetry today than in prose.

'Sarah, abed still after the previous day's hard trek, lay listening to the soft sound of rain on the shack's tin roof.'
