Oaf: noun – originally, a fairy changeling, child of a goblin, an idiot child. But now; fool, awkward lout, halfwit, rude man.

'Many people, all over the world, have considered George W. Bush an oaf, because of his odd and often inappropriate use of language.'

In my opinion, President Bush was (is) many things, but an oaf wouldn't number among them.

Could be the way the British press has portrayed him, Terry. But he doesn't do himself any favours when he says things like 'The French have no word for entrepeneur.' does he?
